Money In Your Inbox
For a little over a month now, I’ve been trying to learn as much as I can about affiliate marketing. I’ve been playing around with some different affiliate marketing concepts, and to my surprise, have started making some money online.
Making money online is not easy; don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. But, with a little effort, knowledge, and skill, it’s very possible. The most beautiful thing about making money online is the fact that everything you need to succeed is available to you, absolutely free on the Internet.
I wish I could tell you exactly where to find all this information, but as I am sure you are aware, there is no single resource that tells you the secret formula. You have to take the time to find it for yourself using your existing knowledge and skills as your starting point.
The reason I’m writing this post today is to share a little tip I discovered that allows me to be notified in real-time when one of my affiliate ads converts and makes me some dough.
This tip is specific to Neverblue Ads, which is an excellent source for affiliate marketing ads. I highly recommend you sign-up for Neverblue if you have a website or blog. They have tons of great offers that convert really well. I’ve made $233 with Neverblue this month and I didn’t even work that hard. My goal for next month is to double this month’s earnings.
Neverblue has a feature called the Postback URL. Every time one of your ads converts into a sale or lead, Neverblue will post an HTTP request to the URL you specify in your affiliate account setup and provide you with the Campaign ID, Site ID, and Sub ID that resulted in a conversion. You can think of the postback URL as a notification system that allows you to do whatever you want with the data.
In my case, I wanted an e-mail to be sent every time an ad converted. I could have stored this information in a MySQL database just as easily, but the e-mail method saves me from checking my stats every 5 minutes.
Now, when I wake up in the morning and check my e-mail, I see all the conversions I received while I slept. There’s nothing better than making money while you sleep…
Here is the simple PHP page I put together:
<?php
$to = "myemailaddress@gmail.com";
$subject = "New Conversion From Neverblue Ads";
$headers = 'From: affiliate@wii-contests.com' . "\r\n" .
'Reply-To: myemailaddress@gmail.com' . "\r\n" .
'X-Mailer: PHP/' . phpversion();
$body = "";
foreach($_GET as $variable => $value)
{
$body.= $variable. " : " . $value . "\n";
}
if (mail($to, $subject, $body, $headers)) {
echo("<p>Thank You!</p>");
}?>
I saved this file as track.php and uploaded it to my website.
I’m not going to explain in depth what this code does, but in a nutshell, it takes all the query string parameters that are passed to track.php and appends the them to the body of the e-mail message, and then sends the message to the e-mail address in the $to variable.
Here’s an example of an actual conversion e-mail:
From: affiliate@wii-contests.com
Fri, Sep 28, 2007 at 11:15 AM
Reply-To: myemailaddress@gmail.com
To: myemailaddress@gmail.com
Subject: New Conversion From Neverblue Adssource : NeverblueAds
campaign : 2004
site : 8907
subid :
This is the how I setup the Postback URL in my Neverblue affiliate setup:
http://wii-contests.com/track.php?source=NeverblueAds&campaign={campaignid}&site={siteid}&subid={subid}
This is what Neverblue actually sent to my tracking page for the sample conversion:
http://wii-contests.com/track.php?source=NeverblueAds&campaign=2004&site=8907&subid=
The values within the curly braces are the replacement values Neverblue inserts when they post the notification to your tracking page. If you look at the URL and the sample e-mail message, you’ll understand this much better.
By the way, if you think you’re being funny by putting that URL in your browser and making me think I’ve got a conversion, you’re not that slick. I changed the URL so that you jokers wouldn’t get me excited over nothing.
If you really want to get me all worked-up, sign-up for Neverblue Ads or participate in a survey to get a free $500 Visa gift card.

I have never put much effort in the affiliate marketing but one day I will give it a shot.Thanks for the tip
Affiliate marketing really can make money. But I never heard about Neverblue Ads before. thank you for sharing the tips here!
Thank for the on php code that you have added for the affiliate program. Got some error when I do that
What error did you get?
Yep, I just want to blog4fun. Maybe latter on I will regret it.
But I am interested on the subject, thou I have never heard of NeverBlue. Can you use Neverblue with Adsense?
I just signed up for this service today. We will see how it works out for me. Where do you promote your affiliate links?
Do anyone know in compare to adsense, if neverblue pays better?
Wow, that’s awesome. All the affiliates I have don’t send an email when I convert. This is a great tool.
Felipe: Yes, you can use Neverblue with Adsense. NeverblueAds is an affiliate network that has many different types of affiliate offers for you to promote. It’s best to find offers that match your blog’s niche and integrate them into your posts and site design.
Mike C: Good luck! Neverblue is a great network. I promote my affiliate links on several of my blogs and some PPC campaigns.
Wedding Cake Lady: There really isn’t any comparison between Adsense and Neverblue, because they are two different types of advertising. Neverblue has specific product or sevice offers, whereas Adsense is content driven and displays relevant ads for you.
It really depends on which offers you run, but you can make significantly more money with Neverblue than you can with Adsense.
Chris: I’m glad you like it. This is something I just threw together, but I plan to add more functionality like: split-testing offers, keyword tracking, and conversion tracking. When I get around to adding this functionality, I’ll post the new code.
Enjoy!
looks like a good one. maybe i would check it out. affiliate marketing is such a tricky one. but if you find the way it would be so fun doing it. so thanks for the info.
Redspace: Yes, affiliate marketing can be fun, but you have to be willing to take a few hits here and there in order to be successful.
There’s nothing better than seeing the conversion e-mails coming to my inbox. It certainly puts a smile on my face.
Money is the second god that i belive. Thanks for your tips.
well im glad theres still hope in it for me. ill have to do some major research on affiliate marketing, just like you have, since it seems like its the most plausible way to make money online through blogging. thanks for the nice info.
Looks you got a nice way of earning money. Can you show me a way to earn some.
Thanks for the Post.
Thanks for the information. I am a bit new to some of these things but I’ve come a long way from where I started. I’ll definately be looking into this. I am trying to increase my revenue from my online business as well. Thanks again!

my online venture into loans proves to be fruitful and very successful
Very informative, I’m inspired I’m going to get some points, thanks for sharing..
Affiliate marketing can definitely be fun
I am not sure how much thats true. Making money onlin? Looks like fantazy.
yes you can make money on affiliate marketing, but like with anything — it takes a lot of work and patience to do it. a friend of mine joined amway or one of those sites that let you setup an online store. i told her that creating the site was the EASY part. the hard part is how to get people to find you!! that’s what weeds a lot of people out of the whole online-selling market. you have to know how to reach people, not just throw up a website and hope people find it. i think she’s onto something else these days, since i haven’t heard her talking about her online store!
I gonna to earn much money.Will try to do that.
i hear chantix works well
I came across neverblue this week and did not know about it. I will check it out as it is a good payer
I came across neverblue this week and did not know about it. Thanks
I will check it out right away thanks.
Never heard of this before either. Any insight yet from anyone? Not sense in re-enventing the wheel if you know what I mean.
What was your error???
you should really get on with incentaclick, i’ve been making solid income with them with no work at all. Now i won’t go and share the ole’ secrets but i will say they pay better than most. and their offers usually direct to better landing pages.
THANKS FOR GIVING IDEA ABOUT NEVERBLUEADS IT IS REALLY A GOOD WAY TO MAKE MONEY
