What’s Up with Bloglines?

For the last month or so, I’ve noticed something strange with Bloglines.  Every few days, a good number of the feeds I’m subscribed to show a considerable number of unread posts that I’ve already read.  Some of the “new” (or updated, I suppose) posts are a week or more old.  I can’t imagine that many old posts across 45 different feeds are being updated.

I have noticed my own feeds sometimes show unread posts and I know I haven’t updated or re-saved them on my blog.  Weirdness.

It almost makes me want to unsubscribe to some of the more frequently updated feeds because it’s such a pain to go through everything I’ve already read.

Do you have any ideas?

Ha! I thought I was the only one with the crazy bloglines stuff. It’s kind of annoying. I was wondering how come everyone was so chatty all of a sudden and then realised they were all old posts.

Good. I’m glad I’m not the only one. :)

Same here. It makes me crazy to see the same old stuff over and over again.

I know I can change the “Updated Items” setting to Ignore in the edit subscription screen, but I don’t want to do that. It hasn’t been this bad in the last three years I’ve been using Bloglines.

I started using Google Reader for a while, but I don’t like is as well as Bloglines. It’s hard to break-up with your first aggregator.

It’s very unusual problem for bloglines. But it still my #1 aggregator

I totally agree with you. I really enjoy using Bloglines and don’t want to give it up.

I sent them a message, so hopefully they’ll look into the problem.

If I hear back from Bloglines, I’ll post their response so everyone knows that’s going on.

It sure would be nice to have this problem fixed.

Most bloggers Feedburner data shows that “Google Feedfetcher” is ahead of Bloglines.we touched on the impact of Google Reader on this market.

That seems to be the opinion of a lot of technical people - and certainly Google Reader is a favorite of many early adopter types.
