Goodbye Sweet Vacation
I’m back from vacation!
Vacations always seem too short to me. Five days came and went in no time and it’s back to the daily grind already. The one thing I really dislike about taking time off work is having to spend a week catching up for the two days I was away. I’m just glad there were no serious problems at work while I was away from the computer.
Overall, we had a good time being away at the lake. It stopped raining for the most part, although, there were two days it rained for several hours. The lake level was nearly 11 feet above normal, which meant that all the boat ramps and swimming areas were closed. All of our favorite fishing spots were were flooded too, so we could only fish in the river below the dam.
I had plenty of time to clear my head and relax for the first time in ages. I didn’t realize how stressed-out I was until all the distractions of daily life were gone and we had no specific plans for the day. I need to do that again real soon.
Once I get through the hundreds of e-mails and respond to everyone’s comments, I’ll get back on my regular posting schedule.
Welcome back!! Hope you guys had a great time out there!
Thanks! We had a blast.
I just wish we could have spent more time there.
it seems to me that someone had a great time!

welcome back to the real world
Vacations are the best days of our lives for most of US. welcome back .
Cazare hotel: Thanks! We did have a great time.
Andy: They certainly are. I wish I could take more vacations.
Welcome Back!
I hate taking time off because I believe there is just too much to do. Yet, when I finally take time off I’m happy I did it. Then, I hate coming back because I realized how stressed I was to begin with!
Man, I spent a lot of time below Eufaula Dam when I was younger. Me and a few friends would head down on a Friday after school and fish the weekend, sleep in the back of our pickups. Saturday nights we’d head into Stigler to mingle with the locals…man those were the days!
Don
Don: Thanks! Vacations are never long enough. One of these days, when I’m independently wealthy, I’ll be taking vacations every quarter.
The water levels were so high that vehicles and ATVs weren’t even allowed below the dam. They were releasing 300k gallons of water per second, so you can imagine how high the river was.
Where could you mingle in Stigler? Ken’s Pizza or the gas station?
I totally agree that vacations always feel short. Last summer i was out for a fishing vacation (2 weeks) and it felt like 3 days. Then when im back at work the minutes feels like hours, but i guess thats life:)
Thanks for a great blog.
