Quit Smoking with Chantix

Chantix

I have tried to quit smoking cigarettes several times over the years and have never been able to make it stick. The longest I ever made it smoke-free was eighteen months and the only reason I went back to smoking was because I thought “one cigarette won’t hurt”. I was wrong.

Best Home Workstation Contest « Mr. Gary Lee

I just ran across a work from home contest sponsored by Gary Lee (www.MrGaryLee.com), while I was browsing Jane May’s blog.  The contest is to see who has the best home workstation.  I think I have the best home workstation, at least it’s the best and most comfortable workstation I’ve had since I started working from home over four years ago.

Here’s my entry to win the Motorola HT820 Bluetooth Stereo Headset Gary is giving away.

Uninterruptible Power Supply for the Home Office

One of the many things I like about working from home is that I get to see what goes on in my neighborhood while everyone else is at work. On the flip side, I also get to experience the phone, cable, and power interruptions that go along with being home all day.

Make Money Online With John Chow dot Com E-Book « John Chow dot Com

As you probably have already heard, John Chow published his Make Money Online E-Book yesterday.  You can get your own copy for the bargin-basement price of $0; that’s right, it’s free.

I admit that I always approach this type of material with a certain amount of skepticism.  Just because it’s free doesn’t mean it’s worth anything.  For example, a few weeks ago someone posted a link to Shawn Casey’s Internet Business-In-A-Box (a $497 value) which he was giving away for free.  What did I get out of it?  Nothing of real value, but Shawn was kind enough to spam me 3 times a day for a week.  Thanks Shawn!

New Blogger Niche

I’ve had a few short commentversations with Roberta regarding her new blogger posts, and it reminded me of something I thought was strange:

Where are all the new blogger blogs?

I’ve spent countless hours searching and reading blogs of established pro bloggers and found tons of useful information (for which I am very grateful), but I haven’t found a single blog focused on the new blogger.

What’s up with that?

Affiliate Links in Reviews

While preparing to write my next software review, I had an interesting question run across my mind: Should I use affiliate links to link to the website and software download of the program I’m reviewing?

Pros:

I might make a few bucks - Honestly, my feelings wouldn’t be hurt if I was able to monitize my blog, although that’s not my primary focus.

Procrastination Therapy

Hi, I’m Donovan and I’m a procrastinator.

I had to get that off my chest before I decided to put-off writing this post.

I am using this post as my personal therapy session to help me overcome my bouts of procrastination.  I’ve been wanting to write this for several days now, but I’ve been procrastinating my procrastination article.  Does that make sense?

50 Ways To Increase Your Productivity - lifehack.org

Lifehack.org has a great list of 50 ways to increase your productivity

I would add one more:

  • Invest in an additional monitor
I have been using dual monitors for over three years and recently added a third. As a programmer and web developer, I found that I was spending way too much time using Alt-Tab to switch between windows, especially when working on web pages and debugging code. Now that I’m accustomed to using multiple monitors, I couldn’t live without them.

I even convinced my boss to add an additional monitor when he bought his new computer. At first, he thought the second monitor was frivolous but he’s since changed his mind.  :)
